Seasonal changes – foods for your well-being
During the various changes of season, especially when the transition takes place with a colder season, our skin is put under a though test; wind, rain and lower temperatures are just some of the factors that contribute to making our skin more dull and opaque. In addition, we are more inclined to consume comfort foods which are certainly good for the heart and taste buds, a little less for the dermis.
In this period it therefore becomes essential to provide the right amount of vitamins, proteins and antioxidants in order to give us a boost of general energy beneficial for the whole body.
But what are the foods to be eaten to help us?
Surely we must avoid as much as possible all those rich in saturated fats and sugars which do nothing but weigh down both the liver and the stomach; green light therefore to seasonal fruit and vegetables which, in the case of the autumn-winter period, correspond to grapes, apples, chestnuts, almonds, blueberries, walnuts, kiwis, tangerines, oranges, persimmons if we are talking about fruit and squash, mushrooms, beets, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, artichokes, potatoes, if we talk about vegetables; and this is just to name a few. The benefits?

First of all, these foods help us purify the liver and free it from toxins, plus they allow us to assimilate vitamins from groups A, B, C, E and fill up with antioxidants, iron, zinc, potassium and other precious mineral salts. If we refer to the well-being of the skin in particular, tangerines as well as oranges and kiwis are perfect for increasing the resistance of the collagen fibers and thus contributing to having a plumped skin with a more elastic and resistant texture.
Let's not forget to also include fish among the good foods during the change of seasons. Oh yes, dishes such as salmon, tuna, anchovies or mackerel are very rich in Omega 3 and unsaturated acids, great friends who help our skin avoid water loss and stay hydrated, as well as contributing to its elasticity and prevent the onset of annoying blemishes such as wrinkles.
